Working with traditional painting medium, sculpture, and modern laser technology, Zoe Yin re-renders two-dimensional paintings in three-dimensional spaces in this new form of art.  Featuring larger than life forms that seem suspended, frozen, or drifting in monumental transparent acrylic blocks, Yin’s Cosmic Slice theme creates worlds that seem close enough to touch and walk into, but are untouchable. The viewer is at the same time, confined to the outside, unable to escape the role as an outsider looking in and is hence overcome with both loneliness and awe at the multitude of worlds of which we are only part of one.

Exploring the connection between 2D and 3D art forms,  Yin experiments with various digital softwares to rerender her paintings and transform them into prototype of 3D forms.
